Holiday's Exhaustion /6:47 PM
That's it. I'm simply not cut for blogging. There is a time interval of 7 months between my last post and the previous one. What the heck! I don't understand why others have the commitment to blog everyday, if not once every couple of days.
I'm too lazy to blog as not many people read it anyways. But since I have much to share, i decided to post something then.
I'm back from my holiday trip. I joined on a tour and we went Beijing, Chengde and Tianjin. First of all, the weather rocks. When i first arrived at Beijing and went out of the airport, a wave of cold frosty wind hit me. I was still feeling okay then, but as time goes by by internal heat got somewhat put out and i started feeling really cold despite wearing 4 layers LOL. At Chengde, it was the coldest over there as it was a hill city at sea level of approximately 3800 metres. The temperature range was 2 degrees to -12 degrees and the average was -5 degrees. Snow was plentiful everywhere and everything was just good. Tianjin had a temperature simliar to Beijing, but as it was south of the capital city, it was oddly colder that Beijing. This could be due to the different wind currents around the world.(I'm not so sure about it actually.)
The culture over there is wonderful! The old folks are very much unlike the ones over here. They really stick to the saying of "one life, live it." After retirement, many of them get together to do a variety of things such as practicing Taiji, playing some sports like Badminton, or more commonly dancing in the many parks in Beijing.
Next, i visited lots of interesting places. They include the Forbidden City, the largest collection of preserved ancient wooden structures in the world, the Summer Palace, Great Wall of China, the world's largest human-made structure, also one of the 7 wonders of the world. I also visited many other places but i won't go into that.
I also get to taste many local delicacies like the Beijing roast duck, Tianjin's Goubuli buns and even the Emperor Feast! Although many meals are oily, I took comfort in the fact that I'd be eating them for about a week only and enjoyed them nevertheless.
There are a whole lot more things to talk about but if i do that I might just end up posting a couple of pages. In a nutshell, Beijing is good, and china is fabulous(except their toilets which are really really undeniably awful). Having visited China thrice, i urge those who haven't been there before to visit that country and enjoy their wonderful culture and lifestyle.
I think this is the longest post that I'd ever publish because there aren't many things to post during the mundane daily life. For that I pat myself in the back.
It's Christmas eve and I haven't got anything planned tonight. I hope to go chill out on the streets of Orchard with some friends and countdown to Christmas. Also, I wish I had a special companion whom i can spend Christmas with. Alas, I don't have such luck and I'd be probably spending Christmas with my family.
To everybody out there in the world! Make peace, not war! Lastly, Merry Christmas!!!
